Outlook for 2019

Selectron's impressive sales growth of 16%, as well as its profit growth, has once again delivered a record result in 2018. The most important success factor is and remains customer satisfaction, which Selectron aims to ensure by expanding its product portfolio and responding rapidly to customer concerns. Customer needs and feedback are also incorporated into ongoing projects.

The year 2019 is now marked by "Innovation": The strategic developments in the area of cybersecurity presented at InnoTrans 2018 include a more powerful 94x controller family, a security gateway for zone separation, and a comprehensive security concept for the entire Knorr-Bremse Group.

We are striding forward in our seven-league boots: This year, Selectron intends to implement the innovative concepts and strategies. In this context, "implementation" must be taken literally for once.


The concepts are mature and are now being put into service. This applies in particular to the new 94x controller family. We are working full steam ahead on the innovative operating system as well as on various challenges and technological leaps in the hardware. The cybersecurity solutions are also being incorporated into it, since the new controller is a central component of the security architecture. At the same time, intensive work is being done on security solutions in order to upgrade existing systems and offer both vehicle manufacturers and operators application-oriented solutions in this field.

The development team in Lyss has recently been supported by a team in Italy. Innovative concepts for MVB solutions and Ethernet are currently being developed there, as well as further additions to the product portfolio for SIL 0 and SIL 2 applications.

Within the group, Selectron can support various units with control solutions and expertise as part of its "Connected System" activities. Along with this, possible synergy potentials become more and more apparent; for example, in the future control concepts of the brake.
